"If the line is long, The food is great. Grab a seat, we're worth the wait!"

The 19th Street Diner was opened in 1986 by Swannie and KG Schwanebeck, and it immediately became a Glenwood Springs mainstay; serving classic Diner fare as well as unique items like the Deep Fried French Toast and the Diner Delight. After working as staff members for a combined 12 years, Rick and Tonya Wernsmann purchased the Diner from the Schwanebecks in January of 2007. Having worked at the successful restaurant for those years, the Wernsmanns knew not to change a thing, and the Diner is still pumping out the best burgers, milkshakes, and martinis in town. Our weekends are busy, but we're worth it, and we can always feed you one more Bloody Mary if you're hungry. The staff at the Diner is as eclectic as the restaurant itself, with the full-time staff averaging over 8 years each. That includes Kessie Schwanebeck, the daughter of the original owners! She started making milkshakes here when she could first reach the ice cream freezer door! And in keeping the tradition, Olivia Wernsmann, daugher of Rick and Tonya, is now serving up those same Milkshakes! Pat, George, and Nate are the Management Team that are second to none, and Yello, (YEAH-yo) has been working on the prep table for more than a decade, talk about consistency!
